IsaDora has always aimed to offer products that are not only affordable, high-quality and fragrance free but also responsibly made. Now, we’re taking a big step forward: IsaDora is officially 100% vegan! But what does this really mean, and how did we get here? We spoke to our Director of Sustainability and Product Development, Daria Eskin, to learn more.
A goal that initially seemed almost unattainably ambitious has now become reality. I am incredibly proud – of the amazing teamwork that made this possible, of how well it reflects IsaDora’s values as a brand, and of the promise we can now confidently deliver to our consumers.
– Daria Eskin, Product Development & Sustainability Director
We realized early on that sustainability isn’t a trend; it’s a necessity, Daria shares. Becoming 100% vegan has been a long process involving meticulous analysis of ingredients and finding the right partners to ensure we maintain our high standards of quality.
One of the biggest challenges we faced was finding alternative ingredients to replace animal-derived materials without compromising performance. For instance, we replaced carmine, which is a red pigment, with synthetic or natural pigments. An even tougher challenge was replacing beeswax, especially in mascaras, because we needed an alternative that would deliver the same amazing result. This took a lot of effort, collaboration with labs, numerous tests, and reworks, but in the end, we succeeded!
This step addresses the growing demand for products that are both ethical and effective. Our customers can feel confident that all our products are now free from animal-derived ingredients,” Daria says.
Not always. A vegan product means it contains no animal-derived ingredients, but it doesn’t necessarily guarantee that no animal testing was involved. That’s why it’s important to look for both vegan and cruelty-free labels. At IsaDora, we are proud to be both – we have never tested our products on animals and never will.
With all IsaDora products, you can be 100% sure they are vegan. The easiest way to check if the beauty product is vegan is by looking at the ingredient list. If you don't see any animal-derived ingredients like carmine, beeswax, or lanolin, the product is vegan. Consumers are becoming more knowledgeable about reading ingredient labels.
That depends on the ingredients. Our products are always fragrance free and formulated with gentle, caring ingredients, making them suitable even for sensitive skin types.
With this transition, IsaDora is not just a choice for those seeking vegan options but also for those who want to make more conscious and sustainable decisions. We are one step closer to offering beauty that is as kind to animals and the environment as it is to your skin,” Daria concludes.
